Live Updates: real-time order status and tracking
Live Updates brings real-time order tracking into a brand's own app and web ordering. Guests follow their order through the stages a brand chooses to show — placed, preparing, ready, out for delivery, picked up or delivered — get a push notification at each change, and can leave a one-tap thumbs up or down once it arrives. Live Updates is provider-agnostic — events from Toast, Olo, Square, Deliverect, DoorDash Drive, and Uber Direct are standardized into one consistent set of stages, and brands control the notification copy.
- The tracking experience guests expect, in a first-party app. Live status, push at every change, and post-order feedback all live in the brand's own experience.
- Guests answer "where's my order?" themselves. Visible status settles the question before a guest picks up the phone, which keeps store staff on the floor during a rush.
- Brands choose which stages to show. Delivery and cancellation updates are on by default. Preparing and Ready are there to switch on once a brand's KDS-to-POS timing is reliable enough to stand behind.
- Order quality feedback from every location. The post-order thumbs up or down gives brands a read on which orders, and which locations, are going well.
Guests see Live Updates on the latest app version, iOS v58.0.0 or later, and brands configure their order statuses here.
Toast Revenue Centers: choose the Revenue Center attached to every Thanx order
Brands running Thanx Ordering powered by Toast can now choose the Revenue Center that gets attached to their Thanx orders. Previously, Thanx orders reached Toast without one. Now brands browse, search, and select a Revenue Center in the dashboard, with an optional override per handoff mode, and every new Thanx order carries it through to Toast reporting and to downstream integrations like Tip Haus.
- Digital revenue reconciles on its own. Orders arrive in the Revenue Center a brand picked, so Toast reporting reflects digital sales the same way the rest of the business is reported.
- Tips settle correctly. Tip platforms read the same Revenue Center, so delivery and pickup tips route right on the first pass after a shift.
- Channel-level separation. Assign different Revenue Centers to pickup, delivery, and curbside for split reporting.
- Pick once, apply everywhere. Choose a Revenue Center by name and Thanx applies the matching one at each location.
- Adopt at your own pace. Configuration is optional, and orders already in Toast keep the classification they have.
Configuration lives in the dashboard under Ordering Configuration → Revenue Centers and uses the existing Ordering Management permission, so no new access is needed. Brands need an active Toast integration and Revenue Centers already set up in Toast. The setting applies to new orders going forward, and selecting by name applies that name at every location — so this fits brands whose locations share Revenue Center naming; locations using different names for the same channel aren't covered yet. Keep the selected Revenue Center active in Toast — if it's archived there, orders resubmit without one.
Olo time-based menus: the menu that matches the moment
Day-parted kitchens on Olo now get a menu built around the time a guest is ordering for. Thanx reads the availability rules already configured in Olo — time of day, day of week, and date ranges — and assembles the menu against the guest's desired order time rather than the time they happen to be browsing. A guest ordering ASAP sees what the kitchen can make now; a guest scheduling ahead sees what will be available at their selected pickup or delivery time.
- Order-ahead shows the right menu. A guest booking a 7pm pickup at 2pm sees the happy hour menu that will be live when they arrive.
- Every item a guest sees is orderable. The menu reflects what the kitchen can make at the time the guest picked.
- Limited-time offers run themselves. Set a date range in Olo once and the item surfaces and retires on schedule in the Thanx experience.
- One source of truth, no menu rework. Availability stays configured in Olo, and Thanx ordering follows it.
- Navigation stays clean. The menu shows the categories that are live for the guest's chosen time.
Insights Lab is now All reports, with Favorites built in
Insights Lab has been renamed to All reports and reorganized around how teams actually use reporting. Reports live in a searchable catalog organized by category, with two sections pinned ahead of everything else: Favorites, which each user stars themselves, and Recommended, a curated set of the reports that tend to drive the most value. Any report can be starred and saved under a custom name and description, with its current filter state captured.
- Filters are saved with the favorite. Reopening a favorite brings back the exact filtered view a user saved, ready to read.
- Each user keeps their own list. Favorites are per user, so one person's list stays theirs as teammates build their own.
- Several reports open at once. Reports open in their own tabs with their own filters, and the URL captures the whole workspace, so refreshing or sharing a link restores the exact session.
- Search across the full catalog. Search matches on title and category, and surfaces favorites alongside everything else.
All reports is already in the dashboard, with nothing to enable. Favoriting covers the reports in All reports today; location and program reports aren't covered yet, and a handful of reports are still moving into the new catalog. Favorite lists sort by most recently added, and follow each user across devices. All reports is available to dashboard customers; Mall customers keep their current reporting experience.
Deliverect-powered ordering
Thanx ordering now runs on Deliverect's middleware, giving multi-location brands a route to enterprise-grade first-party ordering with loyalty built in, and no bespoke POS build to fund. Deliverect owns the POS connection, which brings support for a wider range of POS systems and payment processors than other middleware options. Guests order through the Thanx web or mobile app, choose pickup, delivery, or curbside, and pay through Deliverect Pay.
- Loyalty across every digital ordering channel. Points, rewards, and persistent guest logins work the same way wherever guests order.
- Live delivery quotes at checkout. Guests see real courier pricing from Uber, DoorDash, and others, and choose.
- Menus that match how a brand operates. Nested modifiers and handoff-specific menus are supported, with AI-powered smart upsells at checkout.
- A real support line. Dedicated phone support, backed by a 48-hour response SLA.
Going live means confirming an active Deliverect account, having Thanx CS map locations, validating the menu import, and running an end-to-end test payment.
New in the Loyalty API: qualifying rewards by basket
A new Loyalty API endpoint, POST /baskets/qualifying, returns exactly which rewards and points products apply to a basket, as a read-only dry run that leaves points and rewards untouched. Partners building their own ordering surfaces on the Thanx Loyalty API can show guests an accurate rewards list before checkout. It runs the same eligibility and discount logic as Create & Update Basket, so a reward this endpoint returns is one Create & Update Basket will accept for the same basket.
- Rewards lists that hold at checkout. An offers carousel built on this endpoint shows the rewards that will actually apply to the basket in front of the guest.
- Conditional rewards resolve correctly. BOGO and "buy X get Y" offers return accurately, because the endpoint evaluates the items that trigger a reward, not just the items it discounts.
- One request per basket. A single call returns the full qualifying set, however often a guest edits their cart.
Available now to any partner built to the basket endpoint, including kiosks, voice AI ordering, and custom ordering experiences.
